Footpath improvements: between Cow Lane, Bollington and Ingersley Vale

The existing path is quite steep and very badly drained so unpleasantly muddy in wet weather.
Works involve improvements to drainage, building some steps, refixing a gate and
adjacent fence and, first of all, cutting back some vegetation for access.

Before
The existing derelict fence, collapsed gate and squeeze stile:

After
Repaired fence and new gate

The slab that made for a tight squeeze now a paving slab

Before
Badly drained and uneven stony path

5 hours later
(using timber risers and stobs supplied by Cheshire East Council)

Temporary stone steps

All timber steps completed
